– The world famous BP-5 from Norway has been used for a few years by aid organisations, in disaster protection, in the military, in expeditions and especially in civilian protection as emergency food ration or in food provisioning. BP-WR basically consists of baked wheat. BP-WR is right away able-to-eat and doesn’t need to be cooked. It tastes very nice (sweet) and is suitable for everyone.(Except for children under the age of 6 months), BP-WR has extremely high nutritional value and a pack of 500 g (= 2 day supply) incorporates 2,432 kcal. Mixed with boiling water you prepare food for young children (from 6 to 24 months) or porridge. The ingredients: wheat flour, palm and rapeseed oil, glucose, oats, sugar, barley malt, glucose syrup, milk protein and potassium chloride. BP–WR is completely vegetarian and does not contain any animal constituents. It is completely free from genetically modified ingredients and can also be eaten by any individual. The production is supervised by the Norwegian Ministry of Health. In addition to its small space requirement, the advantage is the easy storage even in extreme conditions. For over 20 years BP emergency rations have been the strategic component in supply problems. The list of references reads like a who’s who of the biggest natural disasters and famines of the last decades. Wherever people are in an emergency situation the legendary emergency rations from the Norwegian company Compact are used.
